Montana Radio Café was born out of the desire for a radio station that plays great music that no one else plays. After around 18 years of playing music that everyone had heard a billion times, and for purely commercial reasons, Scott Johnston seized the opportunity to start a music driven low power station broadcasting from the studio he built on his front porch.
KGLT 91.9 fm is alternative public radio broadcasting 24 hrs a day from Montana State University in Bozeman, with translators in Helena (98.1) and Livingston (89.5). Our programming is diverse, offering everything from Jazz to Rock - Classical to Bluegrass.
KGLT is listener supported. The majority of our operating funds come from Underwriting and our annual Fund Drive. KGLT's listeners are loyal supporters who share a deep appreciation for our non-commercial, diverse programming. Recently, KGLT has been awarded the 'Best Radio Station in Bozeman' by the Tributary Magazine - three years in a row - and is one of the most listened-to stations in Gallatin Valley.
